NMC calls for regularisation of daily wagers

JAMMU: After coming out with full support in favour of Prime Minister’s move to curb black money, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) appealed Narendra Modi to advance the process of reforms as enunciated by him in his recent address to the people of the nation.
Addressing NMC workers meeting here, Shastri reminded that the abolition of higher currency notes was based on recommendations of Wanchoo Committee way back in 1978 but no previous Government at the Centre worth their salt dared to proceed with the process of economic reforms as Narendra Modi has done.
“Now another stage of fight against black money should envisage the restoration of nation’s wealth looted via foreign banks, and the process should start now. All necessary processes should be put in place for initiating this -“Similarly Benami and Hawla transfers of property and economic assets should also be recovered,” Shastri added.
Shastri while welcoming, pro people programmes being taken by Mehbooba Mufti led PDD/BJP Government in the State of J and K, further hoped that the forthcoming budget will be a pro people friendly budget besides catering to needs of all stakeholders.
Shastri also urged the State Finance Minister’s Dr. Haseeb Drabu to make provision for implementations of the recommendations of Seventh Pay Commission and keep budgetary provision of regularisation of the services of 61,000 daily rated workers while presenting the said budget in the State Legislature. Several resolutions were adopted in the meeting included enhancement of wages of Daily Rated Workers to Rs. 350 per day, release of all pending wages of daily rated workers, working in Irrigation and Flood Control Divisions I, II, Akhnoor, Nowshera, PWD, PHE, PDD, enhancing medical allowance to Rs. 2,000 per month, appoint wage commission, include Jammu and Srinagar cities in the list of 100 smart cities, issuance of regularisation orders of 180 daily rated workers, working in Rural Development Department beside an early release of pending installment of DA. Those who spoke on the occasion include Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Sunil Kochar, Ramesh Sharma, Barkat Ram, Jai Pal, Pardeep Kumar, Sukhdev Singh, Surinder Kumar, Mohammad Shafi, Darshan Bawa, Suraj Parkash, Lal Singh, Sham Lal, Swaran Bhagat, Girdhari Bhagat, Vijay Bhagat, Sunil Bhagat and Bhupinder Singh.
