JAMMU: Shorya Sharma on Saturday lifted the coveted State Table Tennis Championship trophy beating equally good Vasu Dewan 3-2 in an interesting final played at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here.
Earlier, Vasu broke the jinx upsetting many time champion, Dheeraj Arora in straight 3-0 sets. In other semifinal, Shorya Sharma got better of experienced, Sandeep Khadotra beating latter 3-1.
In the women’s singles title clash, Jhanvi outplayed Shreya 3-1 to become women’s champion.
In the men’s final and valedictory function, Speaker of the J and K Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta was Chief Guest, who distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up. He congratulated those winners and encouraged other participants.
