JAMMU: As many as 45 young lifters turned up for the day-long Jammu District Weightlifting Championship which was organised by J and K Weightlifting Association at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here on Wednesday. A lone woman lifter, Bharti Devi also entered into the competition but she was declared undisputed winner in view of no other participant.
Bharti participated in 69 kg weight category and lifted 70 kg weight to secure gold medal. In the finals and prize distribution, Chief Sports Officer of the J and K State Sports Council, Abdul Qayoom was Chief Guest, who gave away the medals. He was accompanied by Bhagwan Dass. The Detailed Results: 56 kg: Shakti Singh, Ist; Kapil Singh, 2nd and Nirbhay Partap Singh, 3rd. 62 kg: Manav Sharma, Ist; Naman Mahajan, 2nd and Bhuvneshwar, 3rd. 69 kg: Tahir Saleem, Ist; Mukesh Loria, 2nd and Daleep Chib, 3rd. 77 kg: Vishal Singh Bhagat, Ist; Sanjeev Kumar Kaith, 2nd and Dalvinder Singh, 3rd. 85 kg: Vinod Singh, Ist; Manjeet Singh, 2nd and Vishal Gupta, 3rd.94 kg: Vikram Deep Singh, Ist; and Mohit Singh, 2nd. 105 kg: Maninder Singh, Ist; Ankush Bajpuri, 2nd and Vishal Kumar Kaith, 3rd.
