JAMMU: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) conducted intensive drive against illegal Rehris/Pharis and encroachers causing traffic congestion and obstructing free movement of pedestrians on footpaths.
The Revenue Section under the guidance of Assistant Commissioner (Rev) Jammu Municipal Corporation conducted drive on the instructions of Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Dr. Manmohan Singh.
The team visited various areas of Jammu City viz K.C Chowk, Bakshi Nagar and Akhnoor Road. The team removed 20 numbers of illegal Rehris plying on the main roads causing traffic congestion and seized three Rehris plying without obtaining licence from Jammu Municipal Corporation and other material weighing machine and plastic container and also cleared the footpaths and pavements.
The Jammu Municipal Corporation appealed to Rehri owners to ply their Rehris only after obtaining proper licence from Jammu Municipal Corporation and also appealed to ply their Rehris in no Rehri zone and cooperate with Jammu Municipal Corporation in making Jammu a smart and traffic free city.
