UDHAMPUR: A large number of Sikh Sangat of Udhampur took out an impressive Nagar Kirtan in Udhampur city in view of upcoming Parkash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. During Nagar Kirtan youths of the community exhibited the martial arts.
Sikh Sangat including ladies and youths took out an impressive Nagar Kirtan in Udhampur which passed from main Bazaar and streets of the town and later culminated at mini stadium. In Nagar Kirtan, Panj Piyare of Guru were fully decorated in traditional attire, while other youths showed their skilled talent by exhibiting the martial arts and sword games. Whole town was fully decorated and people had arranged fruits and sweets for Sangat at many places. Sangat was reciting the Bajan and Kirtan and also were distributing Prashad among the pubic also.
POONCH: An impressive Nagar Kirtan was taken out on the eve of Parkash Divas -the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj here today.
The Nagar Kirtan started from Gurdwara Singh Sabha Poonch and after passing through various bazaars of the city it culminated at Gurdwara Singh Saba Poonch. Thousands of Sikh devotees including men, women and children participated in Nagar Kirtan.
The Ragi Jathas of Poonch participated in the Nagar Kirtan which was led by Panj Piyaras attired in colorful religious dresses. It was followed by the fully decorated Palki of Guru Granth Sahib.The authorities had made elaborate arrangements for the Nagar Kirtan and to avert any untoward incident a big contingent of police was deployed on the route where from the Nagar Kirtan passed.
