District Samba Volleyball Championship begins

SAMBA: Volleyball Club Gho-Brahmana won the inaugural match in bays section in the District Samba Volleyball Championship, organised by District Association under the aegis of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Jakh, here on Saturday.
The two-day event is being held on knock-out basis among the registered clubs and institutions.
The championship was declared open by Chief Guest, Sudesh Kumar, Vice-Principal of the host School in the presence of Kuldip Magotra Chief Executive Officer (CEO), R.C Sharma Treasurer and Akbar Ali of Volleyball Association of J and K. In this championship, 12 teams including eight boys and four girls are participating.
In the opening match of boys, Volleyball Club Gho-Brahmana beat Volleyball Club Swankha-B by straight 2-0 (25-20, 25-22). In another match Volleyball Club Jakh Channi defeated GHSS Jakh by 2-1 (25-21, 21-25, 15-11) and third match of the day Volleyball Club Tarlokpur outplayed Volleyball Club Dhomore by 2-0 (25-20, 25-21).
In girls section, Volleyball Club Raya trounced Volleyball Club Suchani by 2-0 (25-17, 25-15). According to organizers, semi-finals and finals will be played tomorrow.
