JAMMU: Director Batra Group, Manik Batra on Tuesday unveiled all new Toyota Fortuner at a function organized here at Shree Toyota, Narwal Bypass. Director Batra Group, Bhisham Batra and GM Sales Shree Toyota, Sahil Gupta were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Manik Batra said “The new-gen Fortuner, available in six variants, competes directly with the Ford Endeavour and the Chevrolet Trailblazer. Three airbags and ABS with EBD are standard across all the variants of the SUV. The Japanese auto giant, Toyota, has finally launched the much-awaited second-gen Fortuner at a price of Rs 26.64 lakh (ex-showroom Jammu). There was huge rush throughout the day and the dealership has received overwhelming response on the very first day itself.”
“On the looks front, the new Fortuner is definitely a head-turner. It does away with the rugged and simplistic design of its predecessor and brings in a more modern take on what an urban SUV should look like. The new model gets a complete overhaul inside out. The new-gen Fortuner features LED projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels and loads of chrome garnishing,” he stated.
“Inside the cabin, the second-gen Fortuner finally receives an ambiance that compliments its price tag. The leather upholstery, touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, automatic climate control and electrically adjustable driver’s seat are just a few features that make the whole package much more desirable. Additionally, three airbags and ABS with EBD are standard across all the variants of the SUV,” he said.
“Under the hood, customers can either opt for a 2.7-litre petrol mill or a 2.8-litre diesel. For the new Fortuner, the petrol-powered engine churns out 166PS of power and 245Nm of torque and, depending on the variant, is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The diesel mill, on the other hand, is tuned to pump out 177PS of power and 450Nm of torque and is mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed auto box. Notably Toyota’s 4WD tech is only available with the diesel engine,” Batra added.
