NOWSHERA: In response to the demand of the border people who have been shifted to the safer places in view of the ceasefire violations by the Pak Rangers causing number of casualties and injuries to them and their livestock, DDC Rajouri Shabir Ahmed Bhatta along with SDM Nowshera and sectoral officers visited the migration camps on Thursday.
The DDC reviewed the facilities being provided to these people in the camp. The border people said that they still visit their villages to harvest their crops and look after their cattle. They said that there is no arrangement for prompt shifting of the victims of Pak firing to SDH Nowshera. They demanded that a helpline should be given and ambulance should be kept ready to reach the spot on receipt of call for shifting the injured. They further demanded that a mobile team of Veterinary Doctor with helpers should visit the border area to provide treatment to the injured cattle as it is not possible to shift them back. The DDC assured them that the demand will be discussed and possible arrangements will be made.
The border villagers said that during abrupt firing and shelling by the Pak Rangers, they have no shelter to hide themselves and therefore they inescapably need bunkers which should be provided at the earliest.
Meanwhile, MLC Surinder Choudhary who also visited the camps asked the DDC to depute JCB to provide temporary bunkers for the affected villagers till such time government takes a decision for the provision of permanent bunkers.
