JAMMU: Avtar Singh Khalsa, elected member of District Gurdwara Prabahdhak Committee (DGPC) Jammu from Bishnah, has been made General Secretary of DGPC Jammu, after the resignation of Harjinder Singh on health grounds and rest of the office bearers shall remain as same.
This was stated by T.S Wazir, ex-MLC and Chairman J and K Gurdwara Parbandhak Board in a press conference here on Wednesday.
He stated that after proper consultations and discussions with religious and political Sikh organizations, we have decided to strive for unity of Sikhs in Jammu and Kashmir and to create positive environment for uplift and development of minority Sikh community, religiously as well as politically.
Avtar Singh khalsa, while expressing full faith and confidence in the leadership of T.S Wazir, termed it as his home coming and said we can deliver and serve the aspirations of the Sikh community in a better way under the leadership of Wazir.
Jathedar Mohinder Singh, President Jagjlt Singh, Harjinder Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Mohinder Singh and Manmohan Singh were also present.
