Vickrant creates badminton world record at Model Academy

JAMMU: Superpositivity Movement founder Vickrant Mahajan created a new Guinness World Record for most consecutive matches, badminton singles at the badminton court of Model Academy, He played 22 opponents for 5 ½ hours without stopping.
The event started at 12 in the afternoon and culminated at 5:30 in the evening.
The first match was played with Dikshant, the badminton champion of the school and the last match with Dr Adit Gupta, the Joint Director of MIER. According to rules, all matches had to be played with strict adherence to Badminton World Feder-ation (BWF) guidelines, and they had to be best of 3 sets of 21 points each. It was an endurance record and the result did not matter so long as Vickrant was fit to continue. Vickrant won 16 matches and lost 6. It was a new category started by Guinness World Records to encourage the sport of badminton and the benchmark to cross was 20 consecutive matches. This was Vickrant’s 44th Guinness World Record attempt in 2016.
