Diwali T20 League;Jammu Vishal Stars, Rising Stars script wins

JAMMU: Jammu Vishal Stars and Jammu Rising Stars registered emphatic wins to stay alive in the Diwali T20 League for under-15 boys, which got underway at Parade Ground, here on Saturday.
The tournament in which four teams which includes Jammu Rising Stars, Jammu Vishal Stars, MIER Cricket Academy and Singh Akhnoor Lions are participating is being organised by Vishal Club Jammu in collaboration with Jammu Police.
The Organising Committee Members includes Hilal Rather, Rajesh Gill, Vivek Shekhar, Vinay Gupta, Vivek Sharma, Anand Tripathi, Vijay Saberwal, Sudhir Singh, Saleem Ur Rehman, Sadiq Hussain, Madan Mohan, Deepak Baba, Rajesh Dhar and R.P Singh. Earlier, SSP Ramesh Kotwal in presence of Chief Prosecuting Officer and Coordinator of the Event, Rajesh Gill, SDPO City, Vivek Shekhar Vijay Saberwal, Anand Tripathi, Madan Mohan, Deepak Baba and Sandeep inaugurated the tournament.
Earlier, in the first match Jammu Vishal Stars defeated MIER Cricket Academy by seven wickets. Batting first, MIER Academy scored 103 runs in stipulated 20 overs with Aditya Abrol (25), Udhan Partap (23) and Kapil Kumar (17) were the main scorers. Aditpal took three wickets, Jugjap captured two while Adishwer, Ashim and Surya claimed one wicket each for Jammu Vishal Stars . In reply, Jammu Vishal Stars achieved the target in 18.2 overs for the loss of three wickets thus won the match by seven wickets. Akshit was the top scorer with 56 runs and Arya Sachivansh made 20 runs. Ranbir took two wickets and Shahid claimed one wicket. Akshit was adjudged Man of the Match. In the second match, Jammu Rising Stars scripted a 101-run win against Singh Akhnoor Lions.
Batting first, Jammu Rising Stars scored 170 runs in 20 overs for the loss of three wickets. Kartik (87), Kanav (36) and Ayush Andotra (23) were the main scorers. Nitish took one wicket while other two batsmen got run-out.
In reply, Kings Akhnoor Lions could not achieve the target and was bundled out for 69 runs in 17.5 overs. Nitish (14) and Srephan (13) were the main scorers. Kartik and Agastaya picked three wickets each, while Abay Tondon and Praful Dhar shared two wickets. Kartik was declared the Man of the Match.
Today’s matches were officiated by Sandeep Manchanda, Sanjay Manchanda, Farooq Ahmad and Shugul.
