KATHUA: Raising pro India slogans, JKNPP’s Vilay Divas (Accession Day) Rally rocked District Kathua on the sixth day. The party activists riding on bikes with ‘Tricolours’ and party flags in their hands assembled at Kali Bari and led by Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP, Balwant Singh Mankotia State President JKNPP and Yashpal Kundal State President Young Panthers took out an impressive rally. The rally after passing through several markets, lanes and streets finally culminated at Main Market Kathua where the leaders addressed the gathering.
Harsh Dev Singh while addressing the gathering said that Panthers Party had been celebrating Accession Day in Jammu since the time of the inception but this time the party had decided to hold District Wise rallies to celebrate Accession Day of the State of Jammu and Kashmir with the Union of India like a National Carnival which falls on 27th October. He disclosed that the celebration of Accession Week was thrown open with the first rally being in Poonch on 17th October followed by Rajouri on 18th October, Ramban on 19th October, Doda on 20th October, Kishtwar on 21st October and Kathua to commemorate the historic decision of Maharaja Hari Singh for acceding the State to the Indian Union which came in force on 27th of October 1947. He said that the final rally shall be taken out on 27th October in Jammu with pomp and show.
Singh further maintained that the main motives behind the rallies were to disseminate the public about the importance of the day which otherwise was lost in the annals of history and to thwart the divisive designs of the secessionist forces operating from few quarters in Kashmir on the behest of Pakistan. He said that for the last more than 100 days certain anti national elements were hell bent to showcase the separatist ideology by waving Pak and ISIS flags in Kashmir besides inciting sedition but the success of these rallies had proven that the majority of people of the State were hard core nationalists who always endorsed the State’s accession with the country. He vociferously asserted that J and K was, is and shall remain an integral part of India and no power on earth can separate the State from the country which was acknowledged by the audience with a thundering applause.
Balwant Singh Mankotia and Yashpal Kundal appealed to the people to maintain unity and mutual brotherhood at all costs for keeping the secular character of the region intact and alive. Prominent among those present on the occasion included Rajinder Singh Manju and Shanker Singh Chib State Secretaries, Ajay Singh Jamwal District President Kathua, Gagan Pratap Singh, Rajesh Kamal Vice-President and Hari Saran Dogra.
