Balwant Thakur meets Deputy Mayor of London in J&K Festival

LONDON: Balwant Thakur, Regional Director of Indian Council for Cultural Relations J&K met the Deputy Mayor of London, Rajesh Aggarwal at Jammu Kashmir Festival stall in Trafalgar Square, London.
The Deputy Mayor of London was amazed to see the kind of diversity being represented through the cultural group of Natrang Jammu which has come all way from India to showcase the variegated cultural and linguistic variety of Jammu and Kashmir through the dances of Jammu and Kashmir State.
Natrang Jammu is here in London with a professionally conceived and designed programme ‘Celebrating Diversity’ which offers amazingly vibrant dance traditions representing Kashmiri, Dogri, Ladadhi, Gojri, Pahadi, Balti, and Bhadarwahi regions.
Starting with Kashmiri Rouf, Bachh Nagma,and Chakkari, the programme transports the audience to exciting journey of the state’s plural cultural. Dogri is represented by the traditional Kud and Jagarna with popular dance numbers like Tunde Jammua Ne, Morni Tille Di and Chattni Timru Di. Ladakh is being showcased through Jabroo and Flower Dance in addition to live Balti singing by Sazia Batool of Kargil.
