STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU:Unearthing a nexus between the Health Department and black-marketeers regarding large scale bungling in supply of AIDS kits, equipments and medicines issued by AIDS Control Society, the State Vigilance Organization on Wednesday conducted raids in the offices of Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Udhampur, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Udhampur and Chief Medical Officer Doda.
It was learnt that AIDS kits, equipments and medicines did not reached the hospitals for treatment of the poor patients suffering from multiple AIDS diseases, but were being black marketed for monetary benefits by the staff members of the AIDS Control Society.
The Vigilance teams also collected the records pertaining to the NGOs involved in AIDS Control Society who are receiving funds from the National AIDS Control Society.
The Joint Surprise Checking teams were headed by Dy SP Kamaljeet Singh and Dy SP Kartar Singh under the supervision of SSP(UDR) Vigilance Organization, Jammu. The SVO is scrutinizing the record seized/obtained during the raids and probe is going on to dig out the scam.
