State volleyball team leaves for Nationals

JAMMU: State volleyball team on Wednesday left for participation in the 19th Youth National Volleyball Championship for boys and girls to be held at Jaipur in Rajasthan from 21st to 26th October.
Before their departure, the team underwent a screening test conducted by the J and K State Sports Council team led by Joint Secretary, Shiv Kumar Sharma and consisted of Sports Officer, Rajan Sharma.
Earlier, the selected probables attended to a week-long coaching camp held at volleyball courts of MA Stadium, here under the guidance of level-I Coach, Ahzar Aziz of Rajouri.
Meanwhile, the team was wished success by President of the Volleyball Association of J and K, Sidharth Daluja.
Azhar Aziz and Razim Tariq are accompanying the team as Head Coach and Assistant Coach respectively. Meanwhile, as per a handout issued by the Association, J and K has been placed in Group-C with Punjab, Rajasthan, West Bangal, Bihar and Manipur being other teams.
The TEAM: Parteek Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Sahil Kumar, Arun Singh, Sunil Gill, Murtaz Ahmed, Reuben Teji, Zaffer Iqbal, Musrat Nazir, Deepak Kumar, Amit Manhas and Parveen Kumar.
