JAMMU: Presiding Officer Fast Track Court Kishore Kumar on Friday rejected the bail applications of Jatinder Singh, son of ex army officer Harnam Singh, resident of Sainik Colony Jammu, Sanjay Kumar, son of Gopal Dass, resident of Akhnoor, Jammu and Swarna Devi, wife of Ashok Kumar, resident of Qasim Nagar, Narwal, Jammu who were involved in the Channi Himmat Gang Rape case.
According to the police that on 26th September, 2016, prosecutrix filed a written complaint inter-alia alleging that she is a student of Jammu University and putting up at Qasim Nagar in a rented accomodation.During the intervening night of 25/26th of September 2016, one lady Swarna Devi took the prosecutrix to her room located at Channi Rama, Jammu where she found three persons namely Sanjay, Jatinder and Bubby, who forcibly committed gang rape. After the commission of offence, all the accused persons fled away from the spot after locking the prosecutrix in a room.
On next day, prosecutrix managed to open the door and thereafter she filed the complaint. On this report, FIR No. 94/2016 for the commission of offences under sections 376, 120-B RPC was registered and the investigation commenced.
Court after hearing Advocate D.K Khajuria appearing for the applicants whereas Advocate A.K Sawhney with Advocate Aseem Sawhney for the complainant rejected the bail seeing the seriousness of the crime.
