The passing of the GST Bill is one of the greatest achievements of political consensus by the NDA government and reflects the spirit of cooperative federalism. It will herald a single, indirect regime across the nation and end ambiguities of indirect taxation which was confusing and contradictory for multinational corporations investing in India. Investors have called it a ‘silver bullet’ for the Indian economy.
