POONCH: Chandak Club on Monday qualified for the final of the ongoing District Volleyball Championship being organised under the aegis of Volleyball Association of J and K at Sports Stadium, here. Now, in the final, slated for 13th October, Chandak Club shall take on Pinto Club. Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Haveli, Shah Mohd Tantray has consented to the Chief Guest in the title clash.
Earlier, in the semifinal, played on Monday, Chandak Club trounced Shaheed Volleyball Club Poonch in straight but close sets of 25-19, 25-23, 25-21.
Retired SAI Hockey Coach and Vice President of Hockey J and K, Sham Lal Sharma was Chief Guest, who interacted with the semifinalist teams and encouraged the boys. Among others present were Secretary District Volleyball Association of Poonch, Krishan Lal Sharma, boxing coach, Mustaq Ahmed, Incharge Sports Stadium, Nirdosh Kumar and Ram Prakash.
The semifinal was officiated by the technical panel comprising of Neeraj Sharma and Sourab Sharma.
