UDHAMPUR: Condemning statement made by PDP leaders asking Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to tender her resignation in wake of her failure to contain the prevailing unrest in the Valley, Lok Vikas Dal on Sunday sought strict action against people indulging in fueling violence and chaos in the Valley.
Citing the stand of Kashmir traders union leader accusing Geelani of perpetuating unrest, chaos and bloodshed in Valley, LVD State President Vikram Singh Slathia said that it is time now that the people responsible for current morass in the State should be put behind the bars and their rhetoric on human rights violations should be exposed vehemently since they are the one who have swayed anti national elements to kill innocent people and the security personnel besides damaging property worth crores.
Slamming former Deputy Chief Minister and PDP leaders for showing sympathy towards anti national elements, Slathia expressed concern that none of those who were being supported by these leaders have asked the people of valley to shun violence and restore peace rather are instigating them to mount pressure on Government and security forces not to use pellet guns to counter AK-47 guns and grenades being thrown upon security forces’ camp. He also blamed that such elements have forced armed forces to have faceoff with Pakistani army which could have serious repercussions and even the situation could lead to a full-fledged war.
Urging unrest mongers, he said that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is very ably tackling the situation. He asked government to take more stringent actions for restoring peace and normalcy.
