11 found illegally using drone in Jaisalmer
Jaisalmer (Raj):- Police and security agencies were thrown into a tizzy after a drone camera was found being operated illegally in the city, where security has been heightened in the wake of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s visit tomorrow.
The drone camera has been seized from a group of 11 people, including a minor, from Gujarat who were found using it without permission to photograph the Jaislmer Fort and its surroundings, police officials said.
The hard disk of the camera is being scanned for sensitive photographs and the group has been asked not to leave the city until probe is completed, said Kotwali police station in-charge Naina Ram.
“Though no case has been lodged, they have been asked not to leave the city till investigations are over,” Ram said, adding that the group claimed to have got the drone to photograph a wedding here.
“The matter is of serious concern as Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will be meeting chief ministers of four states, which share border with Pakistan, here tomorrow,” the official said.
Senior police officials and the district administration have been briefed on the matter, he added.
