Soil health cards distributed among farmers

DODA: The Department of Agriculture Doda, distributed Soil Health Cards to the farmers of Bhadarwah at Regional Horticultural Research Station of SKUAST-J, in the presence of Dr. Mahital Jamwal, Senior Scientist and Head of RHRSS Bhaderwah. During the programme, Dr Jamwal apprised the farmers about the importance of maintaining good health of the agricultural and horticultural farms in the region to increase the production of crops and improve their quality. He told the farmers that proper management of soil health and seed treatments before sowing can reduce the chances of many diseases, besides optimum growth and development of plants in the fields. Dr Rohit Sharma, Scientist (Agronomist) of RHRSS Bhadarwah, make aware the farmers about the role of organic fertilisers in the soil and stressed for adopting integrated nutrient management to keep their soils healthy and for better growth and development of the plants. Dr Neeraj Kotwal, Scientist (Entomologist) of RHRSS Bhaderwah, requested the farmers of the region to keep in regular touch with the scientists of SKUAST-J at Bhadarwah for their problems.
