‘Made in Pakistan’
There is no doubt now that over 80-day unrest in Kashmir was the handiwork of Pakistan-supported elements. So far that country has never accepted the fact that the unrest in Kashmir and terrorism in India is being exported from its own soil and with the knowledge of the government and similar thinking forces which want to keep India bleeding. All efforts and evidences given by India till date have been negated by Pakistan on one or the other pretext. But this time it cannot refute the charges for the ‘Made in Pakistan’ export to India as Pakistani visitors on Sunday hurled stones at the viewers’ galleries on Indian side at Attari during the Beating the Retreat ceremony thus opening a new chapter in the India-Pakistan standoff. A few stones had hit the VIP gallery but didn’t hurt anyone, said sources. The Pakistani visitors were also shouting pro-Kashmir slogans. It looks Pakistan lives in ‘stone age’ mentally. Some may just wash it off as an act by miscreants to create trouble but such incidents cannot take place without the tacit understanding and cooperation from the Pakistani officials. Can Pakistan now say No? It won’t hesitate to do so. Over 20,000 people gather every day to witness the synchronised drill on both sides of the Radcliffe Line. BSF sources also said during the past few days Pakistani visitors had been shouting anti-India and pro-Kashmir slogans. The BSF had on Thursday banned visitors at the ceremony after Centre’s advisory to evacuate all villages in the border areas but on Sunday a few visitors were allowed to witness the event. A flag meeting between BSF officials and Pakistan Rangers was held after the ceremony wherein the BSF lodged its protest. Following the stone pelting, security at all the three venues of flag lowering ceremony in Punjab – Attari in Amritsar District, Hussaniwala in Ferozepur District and Sadqi in Fazilka District – had been beefed up. A Jammat-ul-Ahrar, splinter group of Tahrek-e Taliban Pakistan, had targeted the flag lowering ceremony at Wagah in Pakistan on 3rd November, 2014, killing 60 people.
