JAMMU: Daily wagers of all the government departments on Monday organised a joint ‘Akrosh Rally’ against the State Government demanding release of pending wages and framing of regularisation policy.
A large number of daily wagers of PHE, PDD, Health, Agriculture, Tourism and Forest Departments besides Swachh Jammu Mission Sangarsh Committee and Jammu and Kashmir Home Guard Association assembled at Green Belt Park from where their took out a rally towards Divisional Commissioner Office, here amidst anti-government slogans. They sought immediate resolution of their long-pending demands, including regular release of salaries and better working conditions.
The protesters, led by Tanveer Hussain (PHE), Akhil Sharma (PDD) Puneet Sharma (Health), Rajan Sharma (Agriculture), Shallo Ram (Forest), Sikander Singh (Tourism), Anurag Sharma (Swachh Jammu Mission Sangarsh Committee) and Kamla Sharma (Home Guard), raised slogans against the administration and alleged that they had been betrayed by the successive governments.
The rally is our warning to the government that we are determined to start a statewide agitation if justice is denied to us,” the agitating workers warned.
