JAMMU: To ensure zero tolerance against any kind of child abuse and to make students stress free, Director School Education Jammu (DSEJ) deputed a team of officers to sensitise the students/teachers/heads of the institutions about the child protection as well as psychological issues of students.
The aim of this campaign are awareness/sensitisation about issues related to Child Abuse /Child Protection, Psychological sensitization of students and teachers, assessment of guidance and counselling needs, awareness generation about counselling cell activities, Group counselling, Feedback from the field, to get Knowledge about best practices of the institution.
The institutions covered during the first phase of the campaign are SRML Model Higher Secondary School, Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Mubarak Mandi, GGHSS Satwari, GGHSS Canal Road, GGHSS Bazar Qasaban, GGHSS Shastri Nagar, Government Boys Higher Secondary School Gandhi Nagar, GHSS Sunjawan, Hari Singh Higher Secondary School.
During this campaign besides holding talks related to issues pertaining to students(Child Protection, Life skills Education, Substance abuse, Positive Engagement, Affirmative action, Happy Schooling etc.) literature/ material/ pamphlets related to these issues were distributed among the teachers and students.
Recently Directorate of School Education Jammu has also constituted a counselling helpline ([email protected], 9419210200) for catering to the psychological needs /issues of students. Matters/ suggestions related to Child Abuse/child protection can be emailed [email protected].
