Govt should provide all facilities for border migrants: Tara Chand

KHOUR: Former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand on Sunday asked State Government to provide full-proof facilities for border migrants. Expressing his concern on the plight of border migrants after escalation of tension between India and Pakistan, the former Dy CM and senior Congress leader, Tara Chand regretted that State Government has not taken adequate measures for the settlement of these helpless villagers.
The Dy CM visited the number of places in Khour, Pallanwalla and Muthi to take stock about the conditions of the border migrants and expressed his sympathies with these people for being uprooted from their houses.
He said that most of these people were either located in some schools and Ashrams while some of these have taken resurge in their relatives homes but there is problem of scarcity of ration, drinking water, electricity and medicare.
Criticising the administration for not making advance arrangements for the temporary settlement of these border migrants, the Congress leader urged the top leadership of the Centre and the country to make full-proof arrangements in order to reduce their difficulties at this juncture.
He also asked the authorities to gear up its machinery and provide all requisite arrangements for their facilities.
