Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ enthralls Jammuites

JAMMU: William Shakespea-re’s presentation of ‘A Midsu-mmer Night’s Dream’ enthr-alled audiences here on Tues-day evening at Abhinav Thea-tre, here. A presentation by Natrang Jammu was directed by Aarushi Thakur. Last evening it opened with a big bang and prominent who witnessed included Priya Sethi, Minister of State for Education as Chief Guest and Nazir Ahmed Gu-rezi, Deputy Speaker J and K Assembly presided as Special Guest. The show was sponsored by KC Sports Club, Jammu. The second show was staged in the morning which was exclusively presented for the students of Heritage School Jammu. Earlier this evening, welcoming the august gathering, Natrang Director, Balwant Thakur informed that it has been the endeavour of Nat-rang to expose Jammuites to the best of the world literature and artistic creations. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is William Shakespe-are’s most popular comedy, set in an enchanted forest with fairies, sparring lovers and a group of comical actors who are putting on a play. The actors who performed in the play included Rajan Thakyal, Bhanu Pratap Singh, Nitish Koul, Goutam Sharma, Aarushi Thakur, Gauri Thakur, Sonalika Jamwal, Masood Qadir Malik, Sanyam Pandoh, Aman Kapoor, Gautam Kumar, Nikhil Dubey,Shray Bakshi, Mohit Kaul, Gopi Sharma, Akshit Koul, Bhisham Gupta, Shaan Khan, Sanket Bhagat, Agam Kaur, Sanya Gupta, Manya and Sumedha Manhas. The offstage team included Music-Brijesh Avtar Sharma, Lights- Anchit Bakshi, Set Designer- Ankush Lakhnotra / Rohit Verma, Properties-Shivam Singh, Costumes-Deepika. B. Thakur, Dance Choreography-Akash Dogra/ Mahikshit Singh, Graphic Design-Vaneeka Gupta/Priya Sharma and Make-Up-Vanshika Gupta.
