JAMMU: Justice Tashi Rabstan of Jammu Kashmir High Court Jammu Wing on Thursday in the much publicised case of missing of 12 year old boy from Vijaypur directed the
CBI to submit the latest status of the investigation within a period of three weeks.
The court also issued notice to Director, CBI, which was accepted in the open court by Advocate Monika Kohli, Standing Counsel for Central Bureau of Investigation.
Pertinently the investigation of case registered under FIR No. 06/2015 at Police Station Vijaypur had been transferred by the High Court to the CBI in a writ petition filed by Rajesh Sharma, father of the 12 years old Vishal Sharma, a student of 6th Standard who went missing on 5th May, 2014, from his residence at Vijaypur while playing with a pet belonging to one of the neighbor near Sabzi Mandi, Vijaypur.
When this matter came up for hearing, Advocate Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed with Advocates Sheikh Najeeb Ashraf and Irfaan Mohd Khan, appearing for the petitioner submitted, that the State High Court in October 2015, had entrusted the investigation of the case to the
CBI and had expected prompt action, as the local police had miserably failed to locate the missing child.
Advocate S. S. Ahmed submitted that almost six months have elapsed but the CBI has not taken effective steps to locate the missing child and there is no headway in the case.
Advocate Ahmed further submitted that the case had been transferred to CBI in view of its having specialised cell for such cases but till date no serious efforts have been made by Central Bureau of Investigation in this regard which compelled the petitioner to again knock at the doors of State High Court, so that the entire probe is monitored by the Court.
After considering the submissions of Advocate S.S Ahmed, Justice Tashi Rabstan directed Advocate Monika Kohli, Standing Counsel for Central Bureau of Investigation to submit the latest status of the investigation with regard to the missing child within a period of three weeks.
