JAMMU: ICCR Jammu is going to attend International Festivals in UK, France and Belgium in October this year.
This was informed by the Regional Director of ICCR Jammu, Balwant Thakur in a statement issued here on Thursday.
Giving details, Balwant Thakur informed that a fifteen members group of artists will leave India on 14th of October, 2016 to have its first performance in London on 16th of October, 2016 at Trafalgar Square, London. Four major events in London are being locally hosted by Jammu and Kashmir Festival Trust and rest of the events are being hosted by the cultural authorities of respective governments of UK, France and Belgium, he aded.
“A programme to showcase the cultural and linguistic diversity of the State of Jammu and Kashmir is being created which will feature the variegated variety of the music and dance traditions of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The diverse cpresentations being included in this professionally devised programme include Kashmiri, Dogri, Ladakhi, Gojri, Pahari, Balti and Bhadarwahi traditional cultures,” he mentioned.
Thakur informed that all those dancers who can perform local dances with full professional ease may approach ICCR for being considered for this programme.
High quality performance ability and suitability will only be the major consideration for participation in these Interna-tional events. He further informed that for the first time in the history J and K, a focused cultural programme will feature in these international festivals and considering the high expectations of the international audiences, all out artistic efforts will be made to bring the glory and pride for the State of J and K, he added.
