Sainik School Nagrota celebrates 47th Raising Day

JAMMU: The 47th Raising Day of Sainik School Nagrota was celebrated on Tuesday with great spirit and fervour at Maj Somnath Sharma Stadium of the school.
The celebrations began with a colourful ceremonial parade led by Cadet Kamal Choudhary in which 450 cadets of the school participated. Col Kapil Dev Kaushal, Principal of the School, reviewed the parade and acknowledged the salute.
After a spell-binding display by the School Band, the young cadets of the school presented a dance performance representing the Tricolour in their colourful costumes.
To commemorate this historic day of the school, Col Kapil Dev Kaushal released the 2016 edition of the school journal The Chinar and also felicitated general employees who are rendering exemplary services in their own work area with utmost dedication.
The School Band received a special token of appreciation from the principal for winning the Best School Band Contingent trophy at the Independence Day Function held at Parade Ground Jam-mu on 15th August, 2016. In his address, the principal paid rich tributes to the founder Principal of the School Cdr N.N Seth and successive officers under whose leadership the school achieved success and reputation over four decades ago.
K.C.S Mehta, Principal APS Akhnoor, Bhan, Prin-cipal Shemford Futuristic School, Srinagar and R.P Singh Principal Bhargava Public School, Samba graced the function as Guests of Honour and expressed their wishes on this momentous occasion.
