Saisha- first female Scuba diver in J&K

JAMMU: Saisha Gupta, a teenage from Jammu, brought laurels to the State by becoming the first female Scuba diver from the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
Saisha, a student of Hope Town School Dehradun, achieved the feat in Bali, Indonesia recently. She was trained by Archana Sardana.
Saisha, 17, who achieved the distinctive feat and made J and K and the country proud of her feat, has opened a new chapter in the history of water sports. She getting the international Scuba diver’s license would encourage the young boys and girls to participate in such kinds of events.
Scuba diving is a mode of underwater diving in which a Scuba diver uses a self-contained underwater breathing apparatus to breathe underwater.
Scuba diving is useful in a number of applications, including scientific, military and public safety roles. Such individuals are trained in the procedures and skills appropriate to their level of certification by instructors affiliated to the diver certification organisations which issue these certifications.
These include standard operating procedures for using the equipment and dealing with the general hazards of the underwater environment, and emergency procedures for self-help and assistance of a similarly equipped diver experiencing problems.
