JAMMU: All India Jat Mahasabha J&K President Ch Manmohan Singh listens to the plight of farmers of Chhan Khatriyan falling under Tehsil Hiranagar and led a deputation to meet PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Minister Ch. Sham Lal.
Ch Manmohan along with his team toured the villages in Tehsil Hiranagar and held interaction with the villagers to discuss demands and issues.
Farmers of Chhan Khat-riyan expressed concern on the shortage of water supply in Ravi Tawi Channel making an apprehension that water scarcity will severely affect the agriculture produce.
Ch Manmohan assured them appropriate response from concerned authorities. Later, he led a deputation of people of Village Chhan Khatriyan, to meet PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Minister Ch. Sham Lal, apprised the Minister of villagers’ problems and sought early redressal.
The Minister immediately called the concerned Chief Engineer and directed him to resolve the water shortage problem, and assured the deputation that Government will device a system according to the needs of villagers. People of deputation appreciated Ch. Manmohan Singh for his approach in resolving the issue.
Ch Nanak Singh, Muk-htiar Singh, Ajeet Singh, Puran Chand, Mulkh Raj, Balwant Singh, Ravi Singh, Ashok Singh, Sham Singh, Wani Singh, Tarsem Lal, Surjeet Singh and Jodh Singh accompanied Ch Ma-nmohan.
