JAMMU: Jammu Taekwo-ndo Association is organizing First J and K Taekwondo Association Cup at Bra-haman Sabha, under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Taekwondo Association and Taekwondo Federation of India got underway here on Saturday.
Around 500 players are participating in this championship and players from the Jammu and Kashmir State showcase their skills.
The Chief Guest of the opening ceremony was Sukhdev Raj Sharma, District Officer, Youth Services and Sports who congratulated all the participants and organizers. He assured to provide help to the sports that uplifts the caliber of an individual. Sher Singh, ZEPO was Guest of Honour.
Others present were Pupinder Singh, Principal, BR Playway School, Ratan Sharma, , B.l Tikoo and Rajesh Kakar, Senior Officers YSS, Ramesh Chandar Sharma, Manager, Brahman Sabha, Varinder Sharma, Judo Coach, Tony Matto (International Fencer), Vikas Abrol, Shalender Sharma, Ashwini Sharma and Gurinder Rakwal.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Subash Shastri, Dogra Brahaman Sabha.
The championship is being organised under the supervision of D.N Pangotra, Joint Secretary, Taekwondo Federation of India, Anuj Sharma, Organising Secretary, JKTA and Atul Pangotra, International player/Refree and NIS Coach.
The technical team is being headed by Vikrant Joshi (National medalist/Refree). The team of officials comprises of Sanjay Kumar, Arvind Satti, Tashi Tundup, Mukta Gupta, Rohit Sharma, Sunil Singh, Pankaj Kumar, Narinder Sharma, Nitish Anand and Sourab.
