Transfer Melas violating norms, accommodating blue-eyed: USTA

JAMMU: J and K United School Teachers Association (USTA) on Friday termed much publicized Transfer Melas as farce which are being used as tool to violate transfer policy and accommodate blue-eyed.
To highlight the issue, USTA held a meeting under the chairmanship of its Provincial President Hari Singh. The meeting in one voice expressed anguish over the mockery and travesty of justice prevailing in the matter of transfers executed through much talked Transfer Melas which have been proved to be fake and futile exercise for teaching community. “It is a matter of great concern that authorities at the helm of affairs are misusing their official positions by making norm less, arbitrary, pick and choose and even premature transfers to accommodate their blue-eyed masters in different districts”, the meeting maintained adding that Masters already working away from their residences were once again tossed to places which are relatively more far whereas kith and kin of politicians were suitably accommodated by violating transfer policy. “Glaring discrepancies in the transfer list are being brought in the notice of concerned authority and it is hoped that the concern authorities will do needful to redress the genuine grievances to avoid any unwarranted and undesirable confrontation with association”, the meeting asserted.
Rajeev Kumar, Kanta Jamwal, Pardeep Singh, Dr Shashi Pal Singh, Roop Chand, Raj Kumar, Shanti Saroop, Ashok Kumar, Julfikar Ali Malik, Kishori Lal, Madan Singh and Darshan Lal were also present.
