JK Group of Colleges celebrates ‘Independence 70’

JAMMU: A week-long celebration of 70th Independence Day concluded under the theme ‘Independence 70’ on Saturday in JK Group of College. The programme started with the patriotic song on 9th August. The patriotic songs were sung by different groups and the songs were truly inspiring, full of love for nation and depiction of national glory.
Drawing and painting competitions on ‘Yaad Karo Kurbani’ were organised on 10th August where the students participated with enthusiasm. In drawing and painting competitions the students created magic with their strokes and the theme ‘Independence 70’ was well portrayed.
The students showed their writing skills in easy writing competition and penned down the biography of freedom fighter in an inspiring manner.
The students were made aware about the era of independence struggle by organising a ‘Quiz Programme’ on 12th August, 2016. Three teams Lal, Bal, Pal were framed and the questions based on Pre-independence period were asked.
13th August witnessed the sports event in which enthusiastic students showed great energy and participated in sports events.
Shashi Chaudhary appreciated the efforts and zeal and zest of students for their participation in the events.
She said that Independence is a prized possession and a responsibility. We should enjoy and value it.
