Adulterated milk can ruin health and aggravate the illness of a patient. Some unscrupulous elements couldn’t care less and contaminate milk even with water from the village ponds. This is playing with the health of innocent consumers, which is not less than an attempt to murder. It is heartening that the Supreme Court has taken stern note of the issue. Milkmen found mixing chemicals or dirty water in milk should be awarded life imprisonment. The state governments should establish adequate lab infrastructure for testing milk samples.
