POONCH: Terming Budha Amarnath Yatra as a symbol of secularism and communal harmony, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Choudary Zulfkasr Ali said that Pir Panjal region is a land of Sufis and saints and people in these twin district have always paved way for peace which is being lauded in all quarters of the region.
While taking review on developmental activities in Poonch District and arrangements being made for annual Budha Amarnath Yatra , the minister said that it was people peace loving approach and hospitality that many Sufis and saints came to this area and spread message of brotherhood and peace. He said that in this land of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah , Nagali Sahib and Budha Amarnath, the people have continued the tradition of spreading communal harmony and peace.
Appreciating the local inhabitants for their cooperation in the arrangements of Budha Amarnath Yatra, the minister expressed pleasure and said that cooperation between all communities and administration is highly laudable and it acts as a torch bearer for other regions. He asked the people to continue this practice of communal harmony in future also.
In the meeting, the members of Budha Amarnath Samiti expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the district administration. The member also appreciated and congratulated the minister for such historic step. “it is for the first time in the history of Poonch that any minister is taking stock/review of Yatra arrangements” .they added.
Meanwhile, the minister also appreciated district administration for making proper arrangements for Yatra. He also expressed pleasure on the chemistry of administration with people of Poonch.
The meeting was attended by MLA Haveli Shah Mohammad Tantary, MLA Surankote Ch. Mohd. Akram, MLC Yashpal Sharma, District Administration Poonch, DIG Rajouri/ Poonch, Director Food and Civil Supplies, SSP Poonch, prominent citizens and representatives of Dashnami Akhara Poonch and Budha Amarnath and Imam of Jamia Masjid Poonch Moluna Farooq Misbhai.
