Involve Valley nationalists, diffuse situation: Khanna

JAMMU: BJP National Vice-President and Incharge J&K and Rajasthan, Avinash Rai Khanna on Saturday asked party cadre to identify the nationalist elements in the Valley who are against the activities of terrorism and want to take out Kashmir from the present turmoil, and seek their cooperation in diffusing the prevailing situation. He said this during a meeting of BJP State office bearers, Ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, Chairperson, Vice-Chairpersons and senior leaders here at Trikuta Nagar State Office. The meeting which was convened to take stock of the present situation in the Valley and also to chalk out party programmes to celebrate the 70th Independence Day was held under the chairmanship of State BJP Chief Sat Sharma.
Khanna after listening to the view points of MLAs and MLCs said that every peaceful gathering in the valley nowadays is instigated by Pak trained saboteurs who mislead the youth to attack the security and police pickets to create turbulence leading to the loss of property and life. He anticipated that soon the turbulence will be contained however after the unfortunate loss of life and property.
Khanna asked the ministers and the party workers to engage themselves in diffusing the situation in Valley. He asked for developing good relations with the people in the Valley by attending to their problems.
Sat Sharma informed the participants about the celebrations of 70th Independence Day as ‘Yaad Karo Kurbani’ (Commemorate the martyrdom of patriots). He said that on the occasion from 9th to 23rd of August different programmes would be organized.
Dr. Nirmal Singh threw light on the present situation and apprised the participants about the efforts being made by BJP ministers to diffuse the situation in coordination with Chief Minister, other PDP ministers and the state functionaries.
BJP State General Secretary (Org) Ashok Kaul, MLC Ashok Khajuria and MPs Jugal Kishore Sharma and Shamsher Singh Manhas, were also present.
