Infighting in BJP reflects hugely on launch of Jammu IIT

JAMMU: Pick and chose policy adopted by the organisers of the prestigious event being organised here in the ‘city of temples’ on the occasion of inauguration of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) has brought out bickering within the state BJP unit.
Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar is visiting Jammu to inaugurate the IIT on Saturday. Despite publishing long list of names of political stalwarts of the state on the invite card, the organisers have missed out on the name of prominent political personality -BJP’s local MLA and state party unit Chief Sat Pal Sharma on the invitation card.
All those people who want to believe it may have happened due to some goof up may not be aware about the infighting within the different BJP camps in the state unit.
Earlier in the past it has been seen some state BJP leaders deliberately skipping the event to avoid coming face-to-face with their rivals in the state unit.
Publishing name of local MLA is part of the protocol and his presence is mandatory than anyone else in the political hierarchy as he happens to be the public representative of the area.
At the same time some of the senior BJP leaders are excited about the event as they are inching closer to fulfilling long pending commitment before the electorate in the region.
From Dr Jitendra Singh, MoS, PMO sitting in New Delhi to Deputy CM Prof Nirmal Singh all are very excited as they will hog all the lime light in the absence of Chief Minister at an important event.
Since state Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Education Minister Naeem Akhtar cannot afford to step out of Kashmir due to prevailing law and order situation. Their names also did not figure on the invitation cards.
Dr Jitendra Singh had even posted cards on his Facebook page to share the excitement surrounding the big event. Name of MoS Education Priya Sethi also figures in the middle of the card as Guest of Honour.
