Inter-school competitions of Jammu District;Bhalwal Zone wins U-19 tennis ball tourney

JAMMU: Bhalwal Zone bagged the under-19 boys’ annual inter-school district level tennis ball cricket tournament, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Green Field Ground, here.
In the final, played on Wednesday, Bhalwal Zone defeated Government Higher Secondary School Akhnoor by three wickets.
Earlier, in the semifinals, GHSS Akhnoor outplayed BSF School Paloura by eight wickets. Batting first, BSF School could score 29 runs for six wickets in six overs a side game. In reply, Akhnoor chased the total making 31 runs for the loss of two wickets. In other semifinal, Bhalwal Zone trounced SRML Higher Secondary School by a margin of 27 runs. Earlier, batting first, Bhalwal scored 51 runs losing six wickets in six overs game which in reply, SRML could not chase and was bowled out for 24 runs. Matches were officiated by the technical panel comprising Farooq Ahmed, Satpal Singh, Rajesh Choudhary and Sadiq Hussain.
