POONCH: Beating Stadium Orange-B via tie-breaker, Power House Club claimed the senior boys’ title in the District Hockey Championship which was organised by Hockey Poonch under the aegis of Hockey Jammu and Kashmir at Sports Stadium, here.
Earlier, in the stipulated time the match ended in a 5-5 draw. For Stadium Orange, Sohail (5th, 7th) Tushar (12th), Istiaq (24th) and Vishal (35th) were the scorers. Similarly, for Power House Club, Rohit (30th, 49th) and Sanjeev (41st, 51st) struck twice each while Mukesh netted the ball for the fifth goal in the 29th minute.
Later, in penalty shoot outs, Power House proved to be better side making it 5-4 against Stadium Orange to emerge triumph.
Principal Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Narinder Mohan Suri was the Chief Guest, who gave away the prizes in the presence of Nirdosh Kumar and Ram Parkash.
The final was officiated by Pawan Kumar, Kavleen Singh and Tusar.
Meanwhile, an exhibition match was organised between Power House Club and Stadium XI. The game was won by Power House by a solitary goal. The lone goal came through Ishita in the 20th minute.
Senior lecturer, Ritu Sharma was Chief Guest and Manager J&K Bank Rajouri, Jyoti Prakash was Guest of Honour. Among others present were Principal Boys Higher Secondary School Rajouri, R.P Sharma and Principal Boys Higher Secondary School, Sunderbani.
