Dy CM playing in hands of anti-national elements: PYC
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Terming Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh as biggest security threat in the militancy plagued State of Jammu and Kashmir, Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) on Monday asked so-called “nationalist” BJP leadership to sack Dr Singh from the Council of Ministers because he is all out to demoralize security forces, fighting against Pakistan sponsored terrorism.
Addressing Youth Congress activists, who held a massive demonstration against Deputy Chief Minister for terming elimination of dreaded Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani as an accident, PYC President Pranav Shagotra regretted that Dr Nirmal Singh has tried to glorify the dreaded terrorist by stating that his (Burhan Wani’s) killing was an accident.
“One can draw conclusion from the statement of Deputy Chief Minister that Coalition Government wanted to give safe passage to the dreaded terrorist, who was involved in killing of number of security forces personnel including some jawans of Jammu and Kashmir Police”, Shagotra said and asked central leadership of the BJP to clear stand on Burhan Wani killing.
Charging Deputy Chief Minister with pursuing pro-separatists and anti-India just for the lust of power, PYC president said that valiant jawans of security forces including those of Jammu and Kashmir Police had worked day and night for more than three months to track down the dreaded terrorist but unfortunately BJP’s Deputy Chief Minister has termed his killing as accident to keep Hurriyat and other separatist groups in good humour.
“Dr Nirmal Singh’s statement has demoralised security forces who have been fighting Pakistani sponsored proxy war in Jammu and Kashmir for the last two and half decades”, he said adding that Dr Nirmal Singh’s utterance has strengthened hands of pro-Pakistani elements in Jammu and Kashmir.
Taking a dig at Dr Nirmal Singh, PYC chief said that election of Dr Nirmal Singh to the Assembly and his being appointed as Deputy Chief Minister of the sensitive border State was rather the biggest accident and tragedy in the political history of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Dr Nirmal Singh, who claimed to be a professor of history, would be remembered in the history of Jammu as one of the traitor who shamelessly bartered Jammu’s wishes and aspirations for his petty personal gains. History will not pardon this professor of history for betraying nationalist people of Jammu”, he said.
Earlier large number of YC workers gathered outside Press Club and held massive protest against Dr Nirmal Singh. Shouting slogans against Deputy Chief Minister and BJP for supporting terrorists and anti-national elements, Youth Congress workers trooped towards Tawi Bridge and blocked traffic for half an hour.
