JAMMU: Kashmiri migrant employees working under Prime Ministers Special Package continued its protest under the banner of All Migrant Employees Association, Kashmir, in front of the office of Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner in Jammu.
The agitating migrant employees were demanding adjustment in Jammu department as they have refused to return back to work and have also made it clear to the State Government that they won’t be able to go back to work till their demands related to safety and security are met. These employees, living in fear in transit camps, returned home following attacks there when fresh cycle of violence hit different parts of Kashmir Valley in the aftermath of killing of HM terrorist Burhan Wani.
Expressing solidarity with the migrant employees, All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference lambasted the State and Central Government which has failed to provide security to these hapless employees.
Advocate Ravinder Raina President ASKPC questioned the existence of elected government in the State as not a single person from the administration approached these employees and listened to their problems rather remained engaged in giving false statement.
Raina stressed upon the employees to show unity at this time and appealed to the government to come to the rescue of employees and demanded their adjustments in migrant cells of these various departments otherwise the lackadaisical approach of the government may compel the agitating employees to take extreme steps. Others who joined the protest include Dr T.K Bhat General Secretary ASKPC, C.L Bhat Vice President, Veena Gurtoo President Women Wing, Ashok Dhar and Bitoo.
