KATHUA: Organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports the inter-school district level tournament of District Kathua for under-19 (boys and girls) witnessed the matches and competitions of Rugby and Karate at Sports Stadium Kathua on Saturday. As many 26 players of eight schools of district took part in today’s event. Boys of Little Angel HSS Kathua outplayed Tiny Scholars Kathua by 2-0 in Rugby.
Meanwhile, Cimpy Sharma and Dhairya Thakur of Little Angels won the title of Karate in below 40 kg category and below 44 kg respectively.
Title of below 50 kg (Boys) was secured by Roshan Yadav of Government HSS Kathua and below 55 was secured by Omkar Singh of Govt. HSS Marheen. Balvinder Singh of Govt. HSS Marheen won the title of below 60 kg in Karate. Mohit Kumar of St. Xavier Convent School Hatli Morh excelled in above 70 kg category.
Competitions were officiated by Punjab Singh, Pankaj Spolia, Sunil Kumar, Sanjay Kumar, Tarsem Kumar, Rakesh Manhas.
ZPEO Kathua Surinder Kour, Joginder Khajuria, Ashok Kumar, Ram Lubaya, Manjeet Kour played vital role for the smooth conduct of events.
