CBSE Workshop concludes in JKPS Kunjwani

JAMMU: Two-day workshop organised by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) at JK Public School Kunjwani, concluded here on Friday.
Earlier, the second day started with CBSE song presented by students of the host school.
School Principal, S.K Singh opened the house with an interactive session with teachers.
He discussed with them that stress should laid on understanding of subjects, clearing the concepts, problem solving and also that the teachers should use some teaching tricks which help the students as only application based learning without any understanding is dangerous. Hence, the focus should be on understanding so that application happens automatically.
The Resource Person from CBSE, Trilok Singh Bist, Principal Jodhamal Public School, Jammu carried forward the session and focused on conceptual and procedural problems. He interacted with the teachers and encouraged them to rectify the conceptual problems and common errors faced by the students while solving mathematics. He also said that teachers have to do mind struggle for the children and make learning a fun.
Another Resource Person from CBSE Dapender Kour Principal GHPS, Mjitha, Amritsar talked about multiple intelligence.
She stated that every child has different types of intelligence and mindset to be identified by a teacher and teach him accordingly. Energisers must also be a part of the classroom teaching.
Besides that group activities and energisers were also performed in the workshop. Various topics like ‘Challenging areas and common errors in mathematics’ and ‘Teaching diverse learners’ were covered in the workshop.
Venue Director, S.K Singh paid his thanks to all the principals of various schools who sent their teachers in the workshop and appreciated the efforts of all the staff members.
