SAMBA: Panchayat Empowerment Committee (PEC), J and K congratulated Governor, N.N Vohra for returning the Panchayat Bill to the J and K Assembly.
The PEC congratulated the Governor for realising the importance of the Panchayat system in J and K which has been supported by the people/residents of J and K who voted en-bloc without any political reservation to elect their members for the Panchayat.
The Panchayat Empowerment Committee appealed to the Governor to reject this Bill which is anti-people and anti-farmers and is aimed to suppress the Panchayats which received unquestionable support of the electorates in the entire State.
The meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Principal (Retd.) Khajoor Singh Sarpanch, here on Monday. It was decided to hold an emergency meeting of Panchayats at Jammu on Saturday, 30th July, 2016 to express special thanks to the Governor and urge for the burial of this anti-people, anti-Panchayat Bill in J and K.
