JAMMU: In view of present turmoil and prevailing circumstances in the State, civil society member of Jammu region on Monday launched All Jammu Civil Society Forum (AJCSF) with Gulchain Singh Charak, President Dogra Sadar Sabha as its Convenor. Abdul Majid was nominated as Co-Convener.
The office bearers of the Forum were nominated in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Annil Suri, former President Bari-Brahmana Industrial Association.
The other members include Y.V Sharma- former President CCI, Yash Paul Gupta-President FRAJ, S. Peter-President Christian Dalit Society Jammu, Neeraj Anand-President CTFJ. Rajesh Gupta-President Ware House Traders Federation, Maj. Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal- President J and K Ex- Services League, Amanat Ali Shah-President Anjuman-e- Imamia Jammu, G. A Khawaja-DC (Retd.), Rajiv Chuni- Chairman SOS International, Annil Suri-Ex. President Industries Association Bari Brahamna, Amit Jandyal-President Apsara Road Traders Association, Attar Singh-President Distributors Association Raghunath Bazaar, Jammu, Vijay Gupta-President Kanak Mandi Association Jammu, Krishan Lal Gupta-Chairman Rajinder Bazaar Association, Kuldip Wahi-President Bar, Restaurant and Hotel Association Jammu, Anan Sharma-President Petroleum Tankers Union Jammu, Baldev Khullar-President Raghunath Bazaar Businessman Association, H.A Siddiqui-Former Add. Advocate General, Prof. M.A Wani-Educationist, Ch. Akhtar Hussain-General Secretary Gujjar Bakarwal Islahi Committee, Mohd. Aslam Qureshi-DC ( Retd.), Parveen Gupta-Senior Vice President CTFJ, Raman Suri- President Sarafa Association Jammu, Balwinder Singh-President Cloth Merchants Association and Om Parkash Gupta-President Jammu Heritage Society Jammu.
Talking to reporters here today, Y.V Sharma dwelt in detail the aims and objects of the Forum.
Forum appealed to all sections of civil society to come forward to maintain peace and tranquility in the State in view of the prevailing circumstances.
The participants pledged to work tirelessly for the furtherance of the aims and objects of the forum. The Convener and the Co-Convener were also authorised to tour all the districts of Jammu province and constitute district bodies as well.
