UDHAMPUR: In a bizarre incident, a nephew brutally murdered his maternal uncle on intervening night of 23rd -24th July in his house at Bashat in Tehsil Chenani in district Udhampur. Sources revealed that victim was immediately shifted to Sub District Hospital Chenani where doctors declared him brought dead. Taking serious cognisance of the murder, a police party headed by SDPO Chenani Vinod Sharma and SHO Chenani Mahesh Sharma under the supervision of DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Surinder Gupta and SSP Suleman Choudhary rushed for investigation.
It is pertinent to mention here that Bashat locality is famous for vegetable growth in Chenani and over some issue regarding vegetable business related issue accused identified as Jugal Kishore alias Julu Ram son of Teju Ram and his spouse identified as Thakri Devi entered into scuffle and both over powered victim (Mama) and Banja ttacked him with sharp edged weapon (suckle) repeatedly and killed him. Victim was left in pool of blood in his house and accused by taking the advantage of isolation and darkness fled from the spot.
Receiving the information of murder, a police party led SDPO Vinod Sharma along with SHO rushed to the spot and collected the circumstantial evidences along with weapon of offence from the scene of crime. Police shifted the body to Sub District Hospital Chenani where doctors declared him as brought dead.
The deceased was identified as 38 years Mohan Lal son of Beli Ram resident of village Bashat. Police also rounded up some suspect for questioning and finally caught hold the both the accused (husband and wife). Chenani Police registered a case under section 302 CrPC/34A.
