Priya Sethi inaugurates RKJ website;Stresses on quality service with transparency

JAMMU: Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks, Priya Sethi, on Friday inaugurated the website of Radio Kashmir Jammu (RKJ) in Panjtirthi.
V.K Sambayal, Station Director, along with other officials of the Radio Kashmir Jammu and dignitaries were present on the occasion. The URL address of the website is: www.radiokashmirjammu.com.
After inaugurating the website, Priya Sethi said, “Everything is well connected with technology today. Children can access data from anywhere through mobile devices. The easiness of accessibility means that we need to provide quality service with transparency.”
She also said that radio has come alive in the recent years.
“Our Prime Minister started Mann in Baat on radio and made the medium come alive in the lives of people again,” she said and lauded the team at Radio Kashmir Jammu.
She further said, “This is a forward-looking initiative for the people who stay out of State but want to keep in touch with their culture, tradition and heritage”.
She said the Radio Kashmir Jammu has always played a vital role in the preservation and proliferation of Dogri and other local languages and with the launch of their website they will come more close to the people of the State who are spread out to the far corners of the nation and world.
Sambyal, in his welcome address, said that this website will provide a link to the Dogras serving outside Jammu, largely in the Indian Army, and having no links with the language as Dogri is only spoken in this part of the region and Radio Kashmir Jammu is the only station that caters to the Dogri and Gojri speaking people.
This initiative will also provide Radio Kashmir Jammu a global platform and reach, he added.
