AAP protests, seeks uninterrupted power supply for rural belt

JAMMU: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday held a protest against PDD for unscheduled power cuts in the Jammu region. Hundreds of AAP activists assembled in front of Office of the Chief Engineer (Electricity) and staged protest seeking immediate intervention of respective authorities of PDD to provide respite to the people from unscheduled power cuts. Speaking on the occasion, AAP leaders said that the people are facing worst power crisis and long cuts in Dei Chak, Bhagatpur, Shahpur, Chaklaldin, Kukraan and Gho Manhasa villages. Villager whose livelihood depends upon farming are suffering very much as they are unable to irrigate their fields through pumps because of long power cuts, they said adding that Electricity Department has failed to meet the demands of these villagers. Other members present on the occasion were Rakesh Lakhotra, Amandeep Singh, Himanshu Jandyal, Rajesh Bali, Bilal Khan, Anita Gupta and Rani.
