UDHAMPUR: Former District Convener of Shree Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti (SAYSS) Vikram Singh Slathia said that it is well managed ill design of anti national elements to create unrest and to hurt the religious sentiments of Hindu community. Slathia deeply condemned the unrest and violence created by anti-national elements in Valley after the death of Burhran Wani. He said reports appearing in media during past ten days of violence revealed that anti-national elements have damaged 25 buildings while 49 partially during vandalism. During irrational attacks and riots by unruly mob 1671 security forces, jawans were injured besides 1,744 civilians. In addition 48 civilians also died. Slathia urged the Govt. to bestow freehand to security forces to handle the counter insurgency in the State without any delay to save life and property of the innocent people and save State from further devastation. He also urged the Govt. to pay compensation to martyrs who have lost their lives during row of Shree Amarnath Yatra agitation in year 2008 are being ignored by the Govt.
Issuing a press note Slathia said anti-national elements backed by Pakistan went on creating unrest and chaos in the Valley. He said what is wrong there to shoot a dreaded terrorist Burhan Wani who in attire appeared in media openly challenging sovereignty of the country and have killed number of security forces jawans and officers in state and also was abetting terrorism. Valley centric leaders and public in general and sympathisers of Burhan instead of appreciating security forces went on supporting the terrorist. Slathia said in patriotic terms there in no difference between Buhran and all those, who are treated as anti-national. Taking serious note of statement made by PDP leader Muzaffar Baig who advocating to adopt SOP held killing of Buhran illegal, Slathia said it is strange person like Muzaffar Baig, Neeam Akthar, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah came for rescue and poured oil on boiling situation to gain meager political mileage and took oath number of times to keep sanctity of sovereignty of county high. Expressing concerned towards security forces for their helplessness while tackling protestors in Valley as rioters are pelting stones, hand-made petrol bombs on security forces. He said rioters are forcing Yatris to chant pro Pakistan slogans, could not resist to molest females and manhandle them. Keeping in view the critical scenario why BJP led Govt. at Center is not giving freehand to security forces to deal with anti-national elements. He urged the Prime Minister Narindera Modi that it is enough and not to test patience of patriotic people more otherwise people would be forced to launched nation-wide agitation against BJP.
Slathia attracting attention of Govt. urged Govt. to pay compensation of rupees five lakh and Govt. job to family members of those who were martyred during Amarnath Yatra row in the year 2008. While castigating the State Govt. which had assured to pay compensation and job to victim families during talks held with representatives of civil society and Sangrash Samiti then, he said, despite lapse of more than eight years all previous Govts. had never paid due attention towards victim families but adopted indifferent attitude towards innocent aggrieved families whose kith and kin were killed by police in firing in Jammu region.
He alleged that Govt. has put the religious sentiments of patriotic people in dustbin. He urged that Govt. to ensure adequate security for Yatra and also expressed concern over hoisting Pak flag in State by anti national elements openly and said they be booked under law and deserve no more clemency.
